I go there all the time to grab a shrimp burrito when I'm hungry and don't have enough time to make something. Doesn't matter the time of day, they are super responsive. I call in my order and they have it ready for when I arrive. My wife also loves their chicken soup! They are great!

I have been coming here for just about 11+ years and let me tell you guys, I have never ever had the slightest bad experience from the crew. The owner is one of the nicest and most respectful people I have ever met. I have tried almost everything on their menu and oh my they taste great. Priced extremely fair considering everything being fresh and cooked on the spot. They are well known for their variety of food and the "DIABLO BURRITO" I myself consider myself a veteran of this challenge as I started to enjoy eating this burrito on a weekly or so basis haha. The flavors are incredible. It's not too spicy but trust me, it's amazing.

Today I ordered a carne asada burrito (I actually meant to order a California, but that was my bad, not theirs!) The carne was super tender and this made me happy. It was also plentiful! I added some sour cream I had at home and some shredded cheese I had at home to it. I used their green salsa which was flavorful on it as well. I also ordered three rolled tacos. The meat was flavorful and tender. The shell was a tad chewy. Not their fault. This wouldn't have happened if I had ordered from the restaurant (I'm guessing). Lastly I ordered a side of rice. The rice was okay. A tad bland, but it was cooked perfectly. I ordered from grub hub, and speed of service was efficient. I cannot speak to the ambience of the restaurant since I was there. The food was decent, so I'd order again. Next time: California burrito! Ha!

Just flew back home from Atlanta and needed my quick taco shop food fix... Leave it to Jaime and Alfredo for taking care of a regular... Called in my order on my way home, arrived and my carne asada chips were hot and ready for me! When you're in or near PQ, be sure to drop by and enjoy bomb ass food!

Been a long time since I darkened the door at this classic spot. A buddy was in town and we dropped by on 10/29/22. Rodrigo was happy to see me, he's such a good dude. I ordered a carne asada burrito because Rodrigo makes THE BEST carne asada burritos BUT he made me get the adobada burrito. Mmm. Okay. Let's do it. I do love adobada. Sat outside. A word about the atmosphere. Some dude drove up, got out of his car in just a towel to get his food. It was such a quick short thing but it was hilarious. People were like 'WTF?' Some guy came over to me and said 'did I really just see a guy in a towel?' This is a place where surfers cruise in hungry after a long day in the water, so you're talking dripping wet boardshorts and sandy feet. Very casual vibe, nothing fancy. Just awesome food and attentive service from Rodrigo! Anyway our food comes out. My buddy couldn't choose between adobada and carne asada so he got two tacos, one of each. (More on that in a moment.) My burrito was awesome. So glad Rodrigo laid down the law. My buddy wolfed down his carne asada taco but he was full (it was a substantial taco) and saved the adobada for later. Later that night we're drinking beers and I'm starving. I crack the fridge open and man did that adobada taco look and smell good. I was so tempted to scarf it down but that would have been a dick move so I just took a small bite! (Don't tell anyone) So to review. Rodrigo's Taco Shop is without question one of the best taco shops in San Diego County and the adobada burrito is a must have. The atmosphere is chill and the service is genuine and friendly. When you go tell please Rodrigo I said hi.
